Overseas visitors to Ireland increased by 17.1% since December

The number of overseas visitors to Ireland increased by 17.1% between the end of December and last month.

CSO figures show that almost 1.7 million people visited Ireland between December 2015 and February 2016.

There was a 21.2% increase in the number of people coming from Great Britain.

There was also a 14.4% rise in people coming from other European countries and a 13% increase in visitors from America.
