Former Anglo Irish Bank chief executive David Drumm has asked a US court to be released from custody stating he is not a flight risk and is no danger to society.

Former Anglo Irish Bank chief executive David Drumm has asked a US court to be released from custody stating he is not a flight risk and is no danger to society.

It is reported a number of legal documents were released to the Massachusetts District Court, late last night, outlining his case.

The Irish State is currently looking for Mr Drumm’s return to Ireland, where he faces a number of charges relating to Anglo Irish Bank.

Mr Drumm is in custody awaiting an extradition hearing.

RTÉ has reported that at present, Mr Drumm is employed as ‘Chief Investment Officer’ at a New York investment company. They are keeping his position vacant for his return.

A bail hearing has been scheduled for Friday, in Boston.
