Electric Ireland has agreed a two-year contract to supply electricity to a number of HSE facilities, it was announced today.

These include 1,900 meter points in hospitals, nursing homes, regional health boards, charities, HSE offices and rehabilitation centres across the Republic of Ireland.

The deal is worth approximately €85m. Electric Ireland has committed to supplying one third of electricity from renewable resources.

The agreement follows a competitive process, under the Office of Government Procurement Framework Agreement.

Commenting on the contract win, Jim Dollard, executive director, Electric Ireland said: "The announcement of this contract win is welcome news for Electric Ireland and we are delighted to partner with the HSE on such a large scale.

"We focus on providing a tailored and unique service to meet our customer’s needs, and our experience in managing contracts of this size means we have the resources, systems and knowledge to manage large scale accounts."
