More gold found in Co Monaghan

Conroy Gold and Natural Resources has confirmed the discovery of a gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 700 metres by 300 metres near Rockcorry, Co Monaghan.

The company is proposing to develop its first gold mine in Monaghan, around 14km away from the latest discovery and has been carrying out a number of searches in the area.

Four gold-in-soil samples in the anomaly were above 20ppb gold and a further five above 10ppb gold.

Professor Richard Conroy, chairman commented: "This discovery confirms the gold potential of the company’s licences in the area lying between the company’s existing gold targets to the Northwest at Clay Lake, Clontibret, where a mine is being developed, and Glenish, as well as those to the South at Slieve Glah."
