Noonan pessimistic on Greek debt deal

The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has said he is still pessimistic that a deal can be done to restructure Greek debt.

Noonan made the comments at today's meeting of Eurozone finance ministers.

The Greek government was in talks with representatives from the ECB, European Commission and the IMF all weekend. However, no deal emerged ahead of today's meeting.

Mr Noonan said it is time for the Greek finance minister to be more clear about his government’s demands.

“I don’t think anything has happened that is really tangible over the discussions in the last few days,” said the Minister for Finance.

“In my view it is up to the Greek financial minster now to be more specific in his requests.”
