Aer Lingus have reported a 6.2% rise in their passenger numbers for July.

Aer Lingus have reported a 6.2% rise in their passenger numbers for July.

Aer Lingus Group plc announced that total traffic for the month, including Aer Lingus Regional, was up 6.2%, compared to July 2013, to 1.212 million passengers.

They said their long-haul passengers increased by 22.4% from 116,000 to 142,000, while short-haul passenger numbers were up 2.1% to 928,000.

The airline's total passenger numbers for the year to date now stands at 6.446 million, up 3.9% on the previous year.

Their passenger load factor for the month was 87.3% compared to 87.9% in July 2013
