400 jobs lost at Lufthansa plant in Rathcoole

Over 400 jobs are to go in Dublin after Lufthansa Technik announced it's closing down its plant in Rathcoole.

Staff were given notice of termination of employment this morning.

Last month, management signalled their intention to close following a review of operations.

In a statement this morning, Lufthansa said workers will be paid on completion of notice , at which time any ex-gratia payments agreed at the Labour Court today will be made.

It also said these payments will address the pension fund issue too.
