Bord Gáis Éireann begins sale of energy division

Bord Gáis Éireann has announced that it has commenced the sale process for Bord Gáis Energy, its energy business, and will be issuing an information memorandum to potential bidders.

Bord Gais expects that, subject to market conditions, the sale will be concluded by the end of 2013.

Bord Gáis Éireann comprises two major divisions: Bord Gáis Networks, which will remain in State ownership, and Bord Gáis Energy, the energy division.

Bord Gáis Networks owns, develops, operates and maintains the natural gas transmission and distribution networks in Ireland, as well as the two natural gas interconnectors between Ireland and the UK.
