The motor trade has been described as being among the weakest sectors of the economy.
Business and credit risk analyst, Vision-net, stress-tested companies in the motor trade, and found 33% were showing signs of business failure.
Car sales fell by 14% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year.
