DCC: Q3 profits well ahead of same period last year

Business support services group DCC has said its operating profit in the third quarter to the end of December were well ahead of the same period last year, with the group's largest division DCC Energy driving the boost.

In an interim management statement released today, DCC said its energy division had benefited from colder weather conditions compared to the exceptionally mild weather in Northern Europe in winter 2011.

DCC said: "The Group now anticipates that its operating profit and adjusted earnings per share on continuing activities, both on a constant currency basis, will be approximately 17.5% and 20% respectively ahead of the prior year."
