Moody's: Irish banks outlook still negative

Credit rating agency Moody's says the outlook for Irish banks is still negative.

The agency held that position since 2008, reflecting the view that the Irish banking system still isn't fully stabilised.

The document says it will likely take the banks "several more years" to fully resolve legacy issues from the crisis.

Moody's also believes that Irish banks will remain under pressure over the next 12 to 18 months, because of deteriorating asset-quality and continued dependence on Central Bank funding.

They still predict the economy will grow this year, but at the slower pace of 1.1 percent.
