Ebookers predicts boost for Irish tourism industry
A new study has shown a surge in European interest in Ireland this year.
Ebookers said that Ireland is set for an influx of European tourists this year if its search data translates into bookings.
The largest increase in interest comes from the Netherlands, with a 77% rise in searches versus last year.
Interest in Ireland is also booming in Belgium, Sweden and Denmark.
Ebookers speculated that the increased interest is down to last year's high-profile visits by Britain's Queen Elizabeth and US President Barack Obama, as well as this year's Titanic centenary.
