Bord Gais reports 24% fall in profit

Bord Gais Energy has recorded a 24% fall in profit during the past year.

In its annual report published today, the company said it made €94m profit in 2011.

The company said that the decline is mostly due to its ongoing capital investment and the increased costs of finance.

The firm signed a major naming rights deal in March of this year to rename the Grand Canal Theatre.
