ESB Electric Ireland records 38% rise in profits

The ESB Electric Ireland has recorded a 38% increase in profits over the last year.

The company made a profit of €469m in 2011, most of that money came from its overseas investments.

However, the economic downturn here is continuing to cause problems for the company, with more than 300,000 customers availing of its easier payment arrangements.
