Russian airline to create jobs in Shannon expansion

The second largest airline in Russia has said it will be creating more aircraft maintenance jobs in Shannon.

Transaero has officially taken over the old Aer Atlanta engineering facility in County Clare, guaranteeing the 241 staff there.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny launched the facility this afternoon, saying it is "another expression of global confidence in Ireland".

Alex Krinichanskiy also said the company has expansion plans for Shannon.
