ISME: Urgent action needed to kickstart retail sector

Business body, ISME, is calling on the Government to set up a Retail Strategy Group to help kickstart the flagging sector.

It comes after CSO figures revealed the volume of retail sales was down 3.7% in January, compared to the previous month.

The value of retail sales was also down by 3.7%.

ISME Chief Executive Mark Fielding has said: "Times are still tough and urgent action is needed."
