Report: German wind energy firm looking at Mayo
Up to 3,000 jobs could be created in Mayo by a German wind turbine manufacturer which is carrying out a feasibility study, it was reported this morning.
Enercon - Europe's largest manufacturer of wind turbines - believes Ireland has huge energy resources which can be transported to Britain via the east-west interconnector, according to the report in the Sunday Business Post
The report said Enercon executives have been meeting with members of Spirit of Ireland - a project for energy independence.
The results of the feasibility study are expected in January.
