Digicel revenue up 16% in H1
Telecoms mogul Denis O’Brien’s Digicel Group today posted revenues of $1.24bn (€917bn) for the first six months of the year, an increase of 16% on the same period last year.
The company, which provides telecommunications services in 30 markets of the Caribbean, El Salvador and the Pacific, said EBITDA was up 15% year on year to $524m for the half.
Subscribers to its services were up 14% year-on-year to 11.1m, the company said, adding that growth had been particularly strong in Haiti.
“Our latest set of financial results reflect Digicel’s ongoing strong growth and outperformance of our industry peers,” said CEO Colm Delves.
“I am pleased to report that we have seen growth across the board and are also continuing to diversify our revenue mix with significant increases in value added services.”
Digicel has also signed an agreement to extend and upsize its senior credit facility, which will see $282 million new funds committed, the company said.
Digicel is incorporated in Bermuda.
