Amazon 'to enter market with half-price tablet'

Amazon is expected to announce its entry to the tablet market and launch a price war with Apple.

Rumours suggest the Kindle tablet run on Google's Android software will cost $250, half the price of the market leader, the iPad.

It is understood Amazon would make a loss on the tablet initially, but then is hoping to make money from selling content such as e-books, movies and music.
