The number of company insolvencies is up since last year, but the figures overall are "somewhat stabalising".

The number of company insolvencies is up since last year, but the figures overall are "somewhat stabilising".

New figures show 1,090 firms were insolvent in the first eight months of the year, a jump of 7% on the same period in 2010.
