Just Mobile to close down after 10 months

One of Ireland's newest mobile phone networks, Just Mobile, has announced it is closing down after less than 10 months in operation.

An announcement on the network's Facebook page explained that the company was unable to secure follow-up funding "in tough economic times".

It said the firm will wind down its services within the next few weeks.

From next Monday, customers of Just Mobile will no longer be able to call or text people on other networks, and will be unable to make any calls or texts at all as of Friday, August 12.

Customers' mobiles will effectively go completely dead by Friday, August 19, though they will still be able to switch to another mobile operator and retain their numbers.
