Fyffes sympathises with McCann family after former chairman's death

The board of Fyffes has extended sympathies to the family of its late former chairman, chief executive, colleague and "great friend" Neil McCann.

"The board of Fyffes, together with all of its executives and staff, present and past, extend their deepest sympathies to his beloved wife, Mary, his six children and his extended family," the company said in a statement.

Neil McCann is credited with building Fyffes into one of a leading fresh produce company.

"Having joined the business in the early 1950s, he spearheaded its growth through more than five decades," Fyffes said.
