Mild April impacts DCC Q1
Business support services group DCC in an interim management statement issued today said Q1 results would be impacted by what was the mildest April on record.
The company said unseasonable temperatures in the month and continued mild weather in May had affected revenues at DCC Energy, its largest division, with trading "well behind" Q1 2010.
Other divisions traded in line with or ahead of forecasts.
DCC said group operating profit for the three months to end June was well behind the prior year and budget and half-year results will also be impacted by the result for the first quarter.
However DCC said June has been a better month with operating profit well ahead of the
prior year.
Looking forward, the company said it anticipated that full-year operating profit and adjusted earnings per share will be broadly in line with or modestly behind the prior year.
"The Group remains in a very strong financial position and is actively pursuing a range of
development opportunities," the statement said.
