Moves to block Murdoch's BSkyB buy-out

In the UK, Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt is to write to Ofcom, the television regulator, about News International's proposed takeover of BSkyB.

News International own the News of the World, which published its last edition yesterday, after becoming mired in a phone hacking scandal.

It has also emerged that News International Chief Executive Rebekah Brooks could be questioned by police as a witness to the saga.

She was editor of the paper at the time the alleged hacking took place.
