Aer Lingus appoint ICTU chief as non-executive director

Aer Lingus Group plc has announced that the board has appointed the General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, David Begg, as a non-executive director.

The appointment took effect on 28 January, 2011, following the expiry of his term of appointment as a director nominated by Aer Lingus ESOP Trustees Limited.

He has been General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions since 2001.

The group has announced the retirement of Michael Johns as an ESOT nominated Director effective on 28 February, 2011.
