Low-cost airline easyJet celebrated a near-trebling in profits today by announcing plans for its first-ever dividend payment to shareholders.

New chief executive Carolyn McCall reported better-than-expected pre-tax profits of £154m (€181m) in the year to September 30 – an increase of £99.3m (€116.8m).
