ISEQ down slightly
The ISEQ index of Irish shares lost 18.31 points to slip to 2,694.77 today.
The financials all lost ground. Irish Life and Permanent was the biggest faller, down 5c to 1.54. Allied Irish Banks slipped 2c to 37c, and Bank of Ireland edged down 1c to 58c.
There were some good gains elsewhere however. First Derivatives and Donegal Creameries both climbed 15c to 4.15 and 4.25 respectively.
Other impressive climbs included Paddy Power (up 22c to 29.22), DCC (up 21c to 20.61) and Dragon Oil (up 13c to 4.90).
Icon (down 80c to 13.90) and Smurfit Kappa (down 14c to 7.54) dragged the index into the red, however.
