Hauliers to meet minister over plight of trucking firms
Hauliers are meeting the Junior Transport Minister later to discuss issues which they say have put 200 trucking firms out of business in the past year.
In particular, they will raise the impact of increased fuel costs, due to the imposition of carbon tax.
Vincent Caulfield of the Irish Road Haulage Association said his group has been opposed to the tax since it was first announced.
