JJB sales kick on despite England World Cup exit

British sportswear retailer JJB Sports today shrugged off England’s early exit in the World Cup as it said sales had soared in recent weeks.

The group reported like-for-like sales growth of 22.3% in the six weeks to July 4 – in line with its forecasts despite the England team being knocked out last month following a 4-1 defeat by Germany.
