Plunge sees ISEQ near 3,000 mark
A 74.96-point loss saw the ISEQ move dangerously close to the psychologically significant 3,000 mark today, finishing on 3,001.82.
The banks all lost some ground. Irish Life and Permanent fell 4c to €1.65. Both Allied Irish Banks and Bank of Ireland fell 3c to 75c and €1 respectively.
Paddy Power and Smurfit Kappa both fell 23c to €25.97 and €7.67 respectively.
There were some heavy losses elsewhere, with Icon (down €1.26 to €22.65), CRH (down 72c to €18.36), DCC (down 37c to €19.10) and Kerry Group (down 29c to €23.51) all losing significant ground.
Elan and FBD fell 10c each to €3.80 and €6.60 respectively.
There were only two gains of significance, those coming for Donegal Creameries (up 22c to €2.81) and CPL (up 10c to €2.50).
