The ISEQ index of Irish shares recovered in some measure from yesterday's losses, closing up 102.65 points or 3.70% at 2,879.20.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares recovered in some measure from yesterday's losses, closing up 102.65 points or 3.70% at 2,879.20.

Banking shares were on the rise, with AIB adding 8c to €0.99, Bank of Ireland up 4c to €0.80 and Irish Life & Permanent adding 4c to €2.02.
