Hanafin: NAMA to examine 'zombie-hotels'
The Tourism Minister Mary Hanafin has said NAMA is to begin looking at so-called 'zombie hotels' at the end of the year.
It follows claims by the Irish Hotels Federation that the fundamentally insolvent hotels, which are being supported by banks, are damaging the remainder of the sector, including businesses which are competitive.
Minister Hanafin has said that there is over capacity in the industry and that NAMA will look at these businesses and decide whether or not they should close.
