ISME calls for comprehensive solution to jobs crisis

The Irish Small and Medium Enterprise Association (ISME), is calling on the Government to address the ongoing jobs crisis "once and for all".

The call comes as new figures show there have been more than 23,000 redundancies to date, with 45% of these in construction and manufacturing.

ISME said that, while the number of reported redundancies is down on the corresponding period last year, the reality is that with 284 redundancies being recorded on a daily basis, there is still a daunting issue of joblessness.
