Shares in Bank Of Ireland have fallen by almost 5% since this morning.

BOI shares closed at their highest level this year on Friday but lost some ground today after the bank revealed details of its plan to raise €3.4bn in fresh capital including an issue of €1.9bn shares at a discount on the market price.

Shares in the bank stood at €1.72 at noon, down 8c or 4.44%.

The wider ISEQ exchange was down 8.85 to 3,451.64 points.

Among the risers, Aryzta added 25c to €31.25; Donegal Creameries was up 57c to €2.77; Kingspan added 8c to €7.25 and Smurfit Kappa was up 17c to €17.37.

Among financial stocks, AIB was up 5c to €1.55 and Irish Life & Permanent lifted 12c to €3.24.

On the fallers' board, DCC was down 15c to €21.00; Kerry Group fell 24c to €23.80 and Paddy Power slipped 20c to €26.80.
