There were more losses than gains in early trading on the Irish Stock Exchange as the ISEQ index was down 22.11 points in early trading.

The financials all showed small losses. Irish Life and Permanent declined 8c to €3.03 after it was announced that group treasurer Michael Torpey is to join the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA). Allied Irish Banks (down 2c to €1.57) and Bank of Ireland (down 1c to €1.31) showed slight losses.
