The dispute between Green Isle Foods in Co Kildare and the TEEU (Technical Engineering and Electrical Union) has been concluded through mediation, it was announced this morning.

The six-month dispute over the dismissal of three workers had escalated in recent weeks with three members of the TEEU going on hunger strike.

A statement this morning said both parties had agreed to be bound by the proposals put forward by the independent mediators.

"The agreement will be implemented, and accordingly, all forms of industrial action and other activity will cease with immediate effect," the statement said.

Details of the resolution were not released, with the statement saying that both parties would be bound by confidentiality under the terms of the mediation agreement.
