IBEC: Firms having problems trading with public sector

The process of buying and selling goods and services to the public sector in Ireland is considered problematic by Irish businesses.

Business group IBEC has asked 423 companies to rate the process of selling to the public sector, with over half describing it as poor.

They cited bureacracy and administration burdens as their biggest complaints.

The public procurement market is worth €16bn a year and Aidan Sweeney of IBEC has said the process hasn't shown any signs of improvement.
