Oireachtas backs EU proposal on bank bonuses

An Oireachtas Committee has backed new EU proposals to control banker bonuses.

The report also endorses the regulation of levels of capital banks must maintain.

The plan will oblige credit institutions to adopt more prudent bonus payment policies which do not reward excessive risk-taking.
