Calls for co-ordinated action on economy

There are calls today for a more co-ordinated strategy to tackle the recession.

It comes as a new poll shows more than 60% of people believe the worst is yet to come for the economy.

The Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan has said the first three months of the year will be crucial in identifying the capital requirements of the two main banks.

Former Bank of Ireland chief executive Mike Soden said a "joined-up approach" is needed to bring the country through the crisis.
