Waterford Wedgewood site up for sale

The Waterford Crystal manufacturing plant in Kilbarry has been put up for sale, with an expected price tag of between €10m and €20m.

It has reported that at least one overseas buyer is interested in making a bid for the 36-acre site at Kilbarry, near Waterford City.

It is a year today since a receiver was appointed to Waterford Wedgewood, the parent company of the city's famous crystal brand.

The company had failed to make an interest payment worth €8.2m a month earlier.
