Taxation Institute president praises Lenihan

President of the Irish Taxation Institute Olivia Lynch said today that the Finance Minister made the right decision in leaving income tax alone in Budget 2010.

President of the Irish Taxation Institute Olivia Lynch said today that the Finance Minister made the right decision in leaving income tax alone in Budget 2010.

As expected, Brian Lenihan left the rates unchanged, although he announced that income tax will apply on a progressive basis to those with higher incomes.

He also announced that the 12.5% rate of Corporation Tax is "here to stay".
