Nissan Motor Co said it is recalling more than 345,000 vehicles in Japan and abroad due to faulty brakes and fuel gauges.

Nissan spokesman Mitsuru Yonekawa said today the recall affected a total of 345,306 vehicles.

Nearly 92% of the recalled vehicles were sold in Japan, with the rest mainly in Asia.

The transport ministry said there are no reports of accidents due to faulty brakes and fuel gauges. The ministry said corrosion could cause malfunction for parking brakes.

The recalled vehicles were the Elgrand minivan, the Serena minivan and the Cefiro sedan. The Cefiro is marketed overseas as the Maxima.
