Unions disappointed with failure of Aer Lingus talks
Unions at Aer Lingus have expressed disappointment over the airline's statement that it intends to seek over 1,000 redundancies following the breakdown of talks.
The board of Aer Lingus is warning that further long and short haul aircraft will be grounded before the end of the year.
However, unions say they are available and willing to continue negotiations on the airline's cost cutting plan.
Spokesman for the IMPACT trade union, Niall Shanahan said it would be a shame to abandon progress that has been made in the talks.
