Reasonable gains for ISEQ
The ISEQ index of Irish shares gained 27.41 points to 3.293.92 today.
In the financial sector, Irish Life and Permanent led the way, climbing 12c to €5.75. Allied Irish Banks inched up 2c to €2.70, but Bank of Ireland declined 5c to €2.64.
Paddy Power enjoyed the biggest gain of the day, shooting up 85c to €23.22.
Icon was up 38c to 15.75, with CRH climbing 28c to €19.78. Other significant gains came for Kerry Group (up 20c to €19.85), Merrion Pharmacy (up 13c to €3.69) and Dragon Oil (up 12c to €4.61).
There were some fallers in today’s trading however, including DCC (down 64c to €18.01), FBD (down 21c to €7.37) and Irish Continental Group (down 15c to €13.10).
