The ISEQ index of Irish shares was valued at 3,991.12 points at 11.30am this morning, a fall of 18.89.

Index majors on the fallers' board included Paddy Power, down 36c to €20.84; Tullow Oil, falling 35c to €17.36, and CRH, down 24c to €18.56.

Financial stocks were on the back foot, with AIB down 9c to €3.15, Bank of Ireland slipping 1c to €3.03 and Irish Life & Permanent down 2c to €5.53.

Among the risers, Aryzta added 14c to €27.35 after posting a 2.5% revenue increase to €3.212bn for the year ending July 2009.

Also on an upward trend were Smurfit Kappa, adding 16c to €5.20; DCC, up 15c to €17.25; Grafton Group, lifting 14c to €3.74; Elan Corp, up 10c to €5.08, and Kerry group, also up 10c, to €19.50.
