Tobacco retailers face new registration process

Retailers are being reminded that they must register with the Office of Tobacco Control if they want to continue selling cigarettes after next Thursday.

The move, which is part of a tightening of the laws on the sale of tobacco, also applies to businesses that have cigarette vending machines.

Anyone failing to comply risks being fined and banned from selling tobacco products for a period of time.
