Impressive gain for ISEQ

There were gains across the Irish Stock Exchange today in a bright day of trading.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares climbed 77.11 points to 3.143.72.

In the financial sector, Irish Life and Permanent showed the biggest gain coming from 6c to €4.98. Allied Irish Banks inched up 1c to €2.42, with Bank of Ireland losing 7c to €2.28.

The construction industry had a good day, with CRH impressing with a 90c jump to €18.30. Kingspan grew 21c to €6.20.

The food industry also did well, with Kerry Group leading the way, shooting up 85c to €20.15. Donegal Creameries improved 11c to €2.31.

Tullow Oil and DCC both gained 20c to finish on €12.67 and €16.65 respectively.

Irish Continental Group (up 30c to €13), FBD (up 25c to €7.50), Elan (up 17c to €5.33) and Paddy Power (up 10c to €19.20) all did well.
