The European Central Bank is expected to keep its main interest rate unchanged at a record low of one percent today.

The ECB Governing Council is meeting to assess the current economic situation across Europe.

Market analysts will then focus on the comments of ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet at a press conference this afternoon.

It is thought he may be more optimistic about the outlook for Eurozone growth.
