The world’s largest drug maker Pfizer must pay a record US$2.3bn ($1.6bn) civil and criminal penalty over unlawful prescription drug promotions.

Announcing the settlement today, the US Justice Department said that it included the largest criminal fine in US history – $1.2bn (€840.4m).
