Aer Lingus shareholders set to reduce directors’ fees

Aer Lingus shareholders are due to hold their annual general meeting this afternoon following another turbulent year for the airline.

Dermot Mannion resigned as the airline's chief executive in April after helping fend off the latest Ryanair takeover bid.

The company is also still grappling with controversial cost-cutting plans that could see it shed around 1,500 jobs.

Today's meeting is expected to approve a plan to reduce the fees paid to directors of the airline as part of the cost-cutting programme.
